In his own Words....

Kyle sent me the recap of his first trip to Lawrenceburg's new track. After talking to Kyle Saturday I was hoping the excitement I heard over the phone would come across in his recap of the night. Afte reading Kyles thoughts on the night I thought it came across ten fold. Enjoy..

"When I first walked up to look at the track, it was like nothing I had even seen before. It looked like Eldora but 2 times smaller, but it looked liked it was going to be a fun night. When we rolled out for mud pack i made sure i checked out the whole track going high and low in both turns and straightaways, and I got a pretty good feel for the track. After that I watched the wing cars hot lap and really was surprised they didnt go as fast as i thought they would. Then it was my turn to hit the track for hot laps, and everything went to plan we got a good setup under the car and everything was working great. This place showed me a new type of fast. Fast to me before now was going down the straightaway at the THAT, this place was a hammer down all the way around fast and it was awesome! Next was the heat race and we had made a few changes to the car to keep up with the track. Starting on the pole of the 2nd heat I lead the first few laps only to get past coming out of turn 2 where we need to be a better on the dryer part of the track, we came through and had a strong 2nd place run in the heat. For the "A" we decided to set the car up for the dryer part of the track because we were already good in 3 & 4. With a 6th place starting spot I knew we had a chance at a really good run for the top 3 or 5. When the race started everyone fell into place right off the get go and the perfered line was low in 1 & 2 and high in 3 & 4, but i was trying something different, I was running the low line all the way around the track. We made the right choice by tightening the car up a little more for turns 1 & 2 and as the race went on we got better in 3 & 4. The First 9 to 10 laps were filled with yellow flags and one red. We finally got the long green run I needed to do some racing. Still in 6th on the restart after the red flag I started to dig my way towards the front lap by lap and before i knew it I was passing for 3rd and there was 5 laps to go. But to spice things up a bit there was a yellow with 4 to go to bunch the field back up. I was still running in 4th on the restart and got past Kenny Biro for 3rd and we both had a great race for the last few laps, then Joss moffitt came up and got in the battle as well coming across the line it was Stanbrough winning but 2nd through 5th could had been covered with a blanket. I was kind of disspointed we didnt get a top 3 but after thinking about it I was really happy with how we did. We got a top 5 with 35 good cars in the pits, The car handdle great and I was super happy about that, and this was the first race ever with the new track and that really showed how much we are improving. This week we will be at Gas City, The Burg, and Kokomo."

Thanks Kyle for an insiders look to your first night at Lawrenceburg!
