KISS Series / Twins City Recap

Bloomington KISS
With 60 cars in the pits, Bloomington Speedways KISS show would prove to be one of the toughest fields to crack in 2008.  Starting tenth Kyle drove to a top five halfway through and looked poised to take a ticket directly to the show. With 3 laps remaining while battling for 4th contact dropped Kyle to 8th at the checkers.

Finishing 8th put Kyle in the “C” main and after a torrid battle with fellow QuarterMidget graduate Scott Hampton Kyle gained the last transfer to the nights “B” main and one last shot to get in the nights “A” main. Starting 22nd Kyle worked his way to 13th when the checkered flag waved.

Twin Cities Speedway –
Pulling into the North Vernon speedway hopes were high for Kyle and the team, as the last two visits had netted a 5th and 7th place finish.  At the drop of the green for heat race action Kyle got a great start and had his JEI hooked up. A caution negated the start and then the track crew decided to water the track. Kyle rode out the track with an extremely tight car finishing 6th.  Lining up 11th Kyle quickly started his charge to the front only to have one of the infamous infield tractor tires bite the nose of his car stalling the charge. Restarting in the back Kyle got back to 9th at the checkers.

Kyle’s thoughts on the weekend;
“After starting last in the heat I really thought it was along shot to get to the “A” but when we got to 5th, I got a little overzealous going for 4th and really should of  shown more patience. All of the features looked like an “A” main so getting out of the C was good and passing 9 cars in the “B” was a great boost to our confidence”

Frustrating is the words that describes Saturday night, from watering the track after the start of the heat to me getting into the tire in the feature.  Still coming from the back to another top 10 shows where team is heading. I cannot thank my dad and family and the crew for all they do each and every week.

Kyle will be at Gas City next Friday and Putnamville on Saturday.
