Getting the Ball Rolling Again

As the dog days of summer wind down, this also means that the Indiana sprint car-racing scene starts to wind down as well, but that doesn't mean that Kyle Robbins and his KRR team are giving in yet. 2008 has been a learning year for Kyle and the whole team, from the anticipation of the new JEI chassis too getting a top 5 finish this last weekend at Lawrenceburg with the Maxim chassis the whole year has been full circle and about getting back to the basics.
Around July some major changes went on at KRR. Kyle had some decent runs in the JEI, but just didn't get the performance out of it that he was hoping for. The week before Indiana Sprint Week was to start the team decided to make the move to a 5-Bar Maxim Chassis. "When we decided to make the move we knew it wouldn't be the final piece to the puzzle, but it would be a big step in the right direction" said Kyle. Sprint week would be filled with its ups and downs and so would the following weekends.
The Last few weeks Kyle has really started getting back to the basics and working on his driving, instead of trying to work on set ups and drive at the same time. The big improvement came last weekend at Lawrenceburg Speedway with Kyle's first top 5 since mid June. At the beginning of the night Kyle set up a plan, Kyle drives Kirk works on the set ups and stick to the basics and let everything fall into place, and the plan worked out very well with Kyle ending the night with a Heat win and a top 5 finish against some of the toughest competition of Non Wing Sprint Car drivers in the country. Even with only 5 races left in the season Kyle is going to keep charging hard till the last checkered flag falls and to take some momentum into the off season. Kyle would like to thank everyone that has helped him through the 2008 season, His family, Tyler Hewitt, Gene Ingram, Kevin Triplett, and Tim, Al, and AJ at BCI for all their support. This weekend Kyle will be at Gas City on Friday and Lawrenceburg Speedway Saturday night.
